Corporate Design, Typeface Development and Web Design for »Limbic Upgrade« [Mental Health]
PROJECT
CORPORATE DESIGN, TYPE DESIGN, WEB DESIGN AND POSTER DESIGN

Developing values that are supported by the company culture is one of the classic tasks in brand development. They serve as fundamental pillars and orientation during the design process and act as guidelines for consistent and coherent communication both internally and externally.
This makes values an exciting topic that, when explored, invites reflection on the question: »How do values emerge and how are they established?« It was particularly intriguing for me to delve into the area of belief systems within the framework of the »Limbic Upgrade« project.
Beliefs encompass convictions and assumptions we have about ourselves, others and the world. They represent a subconsciously shaped imprint of perception that is established through the processing and evaluation of personal life experiences as well as familial, societal and cultural influences. Positive beliefs drive us in life and action, while negative beliefs limit us. »False beliefs« obstruct the path to individual development and the shaping of personal life management, but fortunately, they are not set in stone.
One way to overcome limiting beliefs is offered by »Limbic Upgrade,« with a method based on the work of Dipl. Psychologist Ingrid Hack. This approach helps people to reclaim their power of self-determined action. For this project, I had the opportunity to develop a corporate design that includes icons, flyers, posters, a website and a custom typeface.

MAKING OF
Given the clarity gained from a »Limbic Upgrade« as a unique selling proposition, it was natural to develop a reduced design without much ornamentation, using black, white, a single typeface and three icons.
One of the highlights of the project is the typeface »Limbic Sans,« which was developed based on sketches created by Mara Backe — the brain behind »Limbic Upgrade.« This typeface was formatted into a font suitable for use on the website.
Additionally, a second typeface was designed to list limiting beliefs on the back of the poster, creating a graphic contrast to the »Limbic Sans« font and adding more visual tension.
