Magazine »GOTTESWERK I–III« for Munich’s oldest printing house [Gotteswinter & Aumaier]
PROJECT
EDITORIAL DESIGN, INFOGRAPHICS AND PRODUCTION CONCEPT

There are only a few companies that can present a customer magazine, with such elaborate production and high refinement, that is justified because it reflects the services offered to their clients.
One of these companies is Munich’s oldest printing house, Gotteswinter & Aumaier, which took the bold step of challenging existing views on editorial publications and adopting the perspective of brand development as a medium-sized business. This courage opened up a large creative space for me as a designer, and was ultimately rewarded with a multitude of awards to the client’s delight.
Used Refinements: Laser cutting, fluorescent screen printing ink, blind embossing, hot foil stamping, perforations, mirror paper, transparent paper, flaps, edge coloring, stickers, inserts, page bands, Japanese binding, special folds, embroidery and special colors.
Here you see the first three issues of »Gotteswerk,« which I designed at the agency I co-founded in 2009 and left in 2016 for a new beginning.
MAKING OF
The biggest challenge in this project was convincing the client that a customer magazine can be effective even if it is not prepared in the conventional sense but can also be used as a tool to communicate with customers on a brand level.
The key to the gateway into the world of brand communication turned out to be the idea of storytelling based on the company’s work processes. This allowed for a concept to be developed that introduces six process stages in the first magazine, which are then explored as individual themes in the subsequent six magazines.
Explaining all the ideas and their implementation here would be beyond the scope of this text. But click through the image galleries and believe me, everything in this project has a purpose and nothing was left to chance. If you would like to add the magazines to your collection of beautiful printed materials, please email me. A few copies are still available.
